Ah, Valentine’s Day. A day where all those who hate it unite and make it known to the world through Twitter, Facebook and the almighty Tumblr. We commence our loathing as soon as the clock strikes 12 on the first day of February.
There are a plethora of reasons why we share a bitterness towards this hallmarked holiday. We hate it because we are either newly single, forever single, in a terrible relationship, or because we can’t seem to tell that person we like that we actually like them.
So how do we release our Valentine’s angst?
We tweet our hatred, we favourite fellow valentine haters, and we re-tweet those tweets we can relate to.
We scroll through our Facebook newsfeed and roll our eyes, secretly hating those who post loving things about their significant others:
We share and post angsty Valentine’s Day e-cards:
And we watch anti-Valentine’s Day movies that include gore, horror and little to no romance:
(Let’s sneak in some Leonardo DiCaprio in there.)
Perhaps, Some of us may stick it to the man and have an equivalent cliché celebration of Valentine’s Day by having an anti-Valentine’s Day Party.
Maybe even watch The Walking Dead:
But, don’t get too bitter about it, it’s just ONE day. Plus, just remember the good ole times like when you were in elementary school and everybody in class would get a Valentine ’s Day card and candy – even the people you hated. Think of the cake sales and the arts and crafts you got to do instead of actual school work.
Just think of that. No need to get all upset. There are some good memories associated with Valentine’s Day. Just…stop googling stuff like hexes for your exes. Just buy yourself a pizza instead.
